Swatch Continues the MoonSwatch Earthphase Moonshine Gold Series With the Harvest Moon

Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold Harvest Moon

Just last month, Swatch and Omega surprised collectors with the Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold Snoopy Edition, which marked the return of Snoopy to the MoonSwatch lineup after more than fifteen months without a single Peanuts-themed release. Now, only a few weeks later, they’ve followed it up with another Snoopy Earthphase model—the new Harvest Moon edition (Ref. SO33N702L). After such a long gap, it seems the floodgates may finally be open, with two Snoopy MoonSwatches arriving back-to-back.

A Popcorn Motif for the Harvest Moon

Like last month’s edition, the watch features the Mission to Earthphase design—Swatch’s playful take on the Speedmaster with a functioning moonphase complication, Snoopy on the moon disc, and his pal Woodstock floating alongside him. The big difference this time is found in the small golden detail inside the moonphase window: a bag of popcorn spilling over rows of kernels, a nod to the Harvest (or Corn) Moon that appears in September.

This follows the same formula seen in earlier Moonshine Gold editions. Each month’s release carries a subtle change, often tied to a lunar theme or seasonal event. For collectors, the appeal lies in spotting these small details and securing each version before it disappears.

The Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold

For those new to the model, the Earthphase is one of the most ambitious MoonSwatch releases to date. It’s the first to feature a complication beyond the chronograph, displaying the moon’s phases with Snoopy lounging on the lunar surface. The case is bioceramic, the strap is soft rubber—the first time a MoonSwatch has been paired with Omega’s official rubber strap—and the design blends Swatch’s playful side with Omega’s spacefaring heritage.

The “Moonshine Gold” part of the name refers to Omega’s proprietary alloy, a special 18k yellow gold with a paler tone. In these MoonSwatch editions, it’s used in a decorative way, appearing in small golden elements rather than the entire case. The idea is to link the collectible, affordable Swatch collaboration with Omega’s high-end watchmaking.

A Continuation of the August Release

The Harvest Moon edition comes just weeks after the August 9th “Sturgeon Moon” release, which featured a fishnet motif in the moonphase display. That drop sold out instantly at Swatch boutiques, and it’s safe to expect the same frenzy this month.

By keeping the watch nearly identical to the previous release, Swatch and Omega are building a running series of Earthphase Moonshine Golds, each tied to a different full moon. It’s a clever move: the watches are familiar enough to appeal to casual fans, but the tiny details drive collectors to chase every edition.

Release Details

The Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold Harvest Moon will retail for $400 and comes in a bioceramic case paired with a soft rubber strap. It features the familiar moonphase complication with Snoopy and Woodstock, this time updated with a gold popcorn Harvest Moon motif. The watch will be available for one day only on September 8, 2025, exclusively through select Swatch boutiques worldwide.

Final Thoughts

At this point, it’s hard to ignore that the Harvest Moon edition is basically the same watch as last month’s Sturgeon Moon—Snoopy on the dial, Earthphase complication, Moonshine Gold details—all unchanged except for a tiny popcorn motif where the fishnet once was. For fans who lined up in August, this might feel a little underwhelming. Swatch has essentially created a collectible series by changing only the smallest detail from month to month, which is clever marketing but not necessarily exciting watchmaking.

At $400, it does feel like the price is getting hard to justify. Sure, you’re getting a playful Snoopy-themed moonphase complication, but beyond the novelty it’s still a plastic (sorry, bioceramic) Swatch with a simple quartz movement. The fact that they continue to sell out instantly says more about hype and scarcity than about intrinsic value. For many collectors, the frustration isn’t just the cost—it’s lining up at boutiques or missing out entirely, only to see the same watch again next month with a slightly different engraving.

That said, the design remains playful and accessible, which has always been the appeal of the MoonSwatch. The Harvest Moon is cute, it’ll get people talking, and it will no doubt disappear from shelves just as fast as the last one. But with two near-identical Snoopy releases in back-to-back months after more than a year’s gap, even die-hard fans may start wondering how many of these slight variations they really need.
