Hult Unveils the New Aquatique GMT in a Vintage-Inspired Case and Three Striking Colorways

Hult Introduces the New Aquatique GMT

Hult Watches is set to introduce its next major release with the arrival of the Aquatique GMT, a dual-time interpretation of the brandโ€™s compact 37 mm sports-watch platform. The model builds on the foundation and proportions that defined the original Aquatique, but adds a true GMT complication using the Miyota 9075 movement. The launch is scheduled for December 5 at 8:00 PM CET, with the first batch limited to 100 pieces across three colourways.

A Natural Evolution of the Aquatique Line

The Aquatique GMT takes the core silhouette of the 2024 Aquatique, maintaining the balanced proportions, the 37.4 mm footprint, and the mid-century design cues that shaped the original release. Rather than redesigning the case around the GMT function, Hult has kept the geometry intact. The case remains at 37.4 mm in diameter, 43.5 mm lug-to-lug, and 13.2 mm in thickness including the top-hat sapphire crystal.

This keeps the Aquatique feel intact while adding the GMT function in a natural way. Instead of changing the proportions, Hult kept the original case geometry and simply expanded its capabilities. The result is a compact sports watch that works just as well for daily wear as it does for travel, with the local-hour jumping of the 9075 making time zone changes straightforward.

Dial Variants Introduced for the GMT

The Aquatique GMT launches in three variants: Graphite, Terra, and Terra Two-Tone. Each version keeps the clean and functional layout of the original Aquatique but introduces subtle refinements that accommodate the additional complication.

The Terra dial uses a gradient brown tone with a sandpaper texture, shifting from a darker outer edge to a lighter centre. The Graphite dial features a dark grey sunray finish designed to maximise readability under changing light. In both cases, applied triangle indices remain brushed on top to reduce glare and are filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9. The hands and painted numerals at 3, 9, and 12 receive the same treatment. The numeral at 6 is replaced by a discreet date window.

By removing the minute-track wheel, the dial achieves a cleaner overall appearance while maintaining clarity and legibility. The design remains true to the Aquatique identity but adapts naturally to the dual-time layout.

Vintage Character Preserved Through Crystal and Bezel

A defining element of the Aquatique line is the crystal profile. The GMT version continues with a top-hat sapphire crystal that recreates the refractive wobble of 1960s tool watches, delivering a vintage presence while offering modern scratch resistance.

The bezel is newly designed for the GMT. It features a 24-hour scale beneath a domed sapphire insert, with darker tones marking nighttime hours and lighter tones indicating daytime. The bezel uses a 120-click unidirectional mechanism with ball bearings for a smooth and precise feel, and Super-LumiNova is applied to the numerals for nighttime visibility.

True GMT Functionality with the Miyota 9075

Hult selected the Miyota 9075 for the Aquatique GMT based on reliability, serviceability, and performance. The calibre offers true GMT functionality with an independently adjustable local hour hand. This makes time zone changes easy while keeping home time visible. Hult adds a visual upgrade through a custom rotor finished in Cรดtes de Genรจve.

Price & Availability

Hult will release the first batch of 100 Aquatique GMTs exclusively through its website on December 5 at 8:00 PM CET. The preorder price is โ‚ฌ489,95, after which the model will move to a retail price of โ‚ฌ550,95.

Final Thoughts

The Aquatique GMT feels like a natural and well-considered step forward for Hult, keeping the proportions and character of the original model while introducing a useful second time zone. The Terra variant in particular stands out. Brown dials rarely get the attention they deserve, yet when executed with this kind of texture and warmth, they look both premium and distinctive. Combined with the compact 37.4 mm sizing, the model lands in a sweet spot that many enthusiasts have been asking microbrands to explore. With a true GMT movement and a limited first run of 100 pieces, the release is likely to attract strong interest when preorders open on December 5.
