Swatch is back once again with another cosmic chapter in its Moonshine Gold series – and this time, it’s a bite out of the Moon that’s getting everyone talking. The new Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold, launching this November, takes inspiration from the Beaver Moon, and adds a playful twist: the moon phase indicator reveals a full moon that looks as if it’s been nibbled by a beaver.
This marks the fourth model in the ongoing Moonshine Gold editions. Each release follows the lunar calendar, blending whimsical storytelling with the now-iconic MoonSwatch design.
The Beaver Moon Edition
At first glance, the Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold follows the familiar blueprint we’ve seen throughout the series. It features a navy Bioceramic case, paired with a matching navy rubber strap secured by a VELCRO closure.

The white opaline dial remains clean and legible, featuring the classic Speedmaster-style layout and branding. Under UV light, the watch reveals a hidden phrase beneath the Earthphase indicator — a detail meant to delight collectors who love uncovering Swatch’s little Easter eggs.
A Bite Out of the Moon
What sets this edition apart is its dual moon phase display at 2 o’clock. One of the two moons is crafted in OMEGA’s proprietary Moonshine Gold, and the other takes on a distinctly quirky twist — designed to look as if a beaver took a bite right out of it.This detail ties directly to November’s Beaver Moon, the full moon traditionally marking the time when beavers build their dams before winter.

Beneath the Earthphase indicator at 10 o’clock, you’ll also find Snoopy and Woodstock gazing at Earth from the lunar surface, continuing Swatch’s collaboration with the beloved Peanuts characters.
Familiar Design, New Celestial Story
As with previous Moonshine Gold releases, the Mission to Earthphase retains the tactile Bioceramic construction, box-shaped biosourced glass, and etched “S” logo at the center of the crystal. Inside, it’s powered by a quartz chronograph movement featuring earth phase and moon phase complications.

The Earthphase — first introduced in 2024 — mirrors the lunar cycle, showing how Earth would appear when viewed from the Moon. Like a moon phase complication, it runs on a 29.5-day cycle but in reverse — a clever touch that further reinforces the “as seen from the Moon” perspective of the design.
Final Thoughts
The Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold: Beaver Moon edition once again proves Swatch’s unmatched ability to keep the MoonSwatch story exciting. While the core design remains familiar, the creative “beaver-bitten” moon phase adds just enough character to make this release stand out. It’s a subtle evolution that blends the humor and collectability fans have come to love.
